A world-class, heart care center. In Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Earlier this year, I worked with the BackFocus Productions, EXIT Marketing and National Park Medical Center on their latest television campaign for the Heart and Vascular Center of Central Arkansas.

The Heart and Vascular Center of Central Arkansas is the largest, most comprehensive freestanding cardiac facility in the region, featuring more cath labs than any other heart center in the region. Hot Springs is located an hour's drive from Little Rock so having such an advanced heart facility is important for Hot Springs as well as the surrounding communities. It is the only integrated heart center in the region, combining Outpatient, Inpatient, and critical care in one heart center while also connected to a full service acute care hospital.

Below are a few of the TV spots along with accompanying still images. We spent several days filming and photographing in the new heart center as well as the main hospital. An extra thanks goes to EXIT Marketing for asking us to be a part of this project as well as the staff of NPMC.

Behind the Scenes

National Park Medical Center | Little Rock Arkansas Advertising Photographer

Last fall, I worked with the wonderful EXIT Marketing and National Park Medical Center located in Hot Springs, Arkansas on photographing a series of interiors for their new Heart and Vascular Center of Central Arkansas.

The Heart and Vascular Center of Central Arkansas is the largest, most comprehensive freestanding cardiac facility in the region, featuring among other things, more cath labs than any other heart center in the region. Hot Springs is located an hour's drive from Little Rock so having such an advanced heart facility is important for Hot Springs as well as the surrounding communities.

An extra big thanks goes to EXIT Marketing for asking me to be a part of this project.

I always try to have fun on my photo shoots...even when my assistant creeps around in the hallways adjusting the lights in between shots.

Behind the Scenes

Late last fall, I hung up my camera (sort of) and worked as production assistant with Backfocus Productions on their week-long commercial shoot with EXIT Marketing on a series of television spots for National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas. National Park prides itself with being patient-oriented and this campaign reflects that.  To promote the excellence in physician care offered at National Park Medical Center, Backfocus worked closely with creative team at EXIT.  We produced four, 30-second spots as well as 12, 15-second spots. Each spot featured not only National Park Medical Center physicians and staff, but several of their patients as well.

The “For Me” campaign promotes the quality results delivered and close relationships developed by the leading specialists at National Park Medical Center.

You can see a few of the NPMC spots below.

To see another spot, check it out on BackFocus' blog.

Acting at production assistant, I have a whole new appreciation for the job.  I acted as: crafts services, general gopher, talent wrangler, babysitter, lunch runner, coffee go-getter, lighting stand-in, wardrobe and makeup assistant and a host of other tasks.  After we got home -- usually after a 12-hour day -- I then had to re-organize the crafts cart and run out to buy more snacks and drinks.  So if you think being a PA is a blow off job, think again. I have so much respect for the hard work PA's do on any film or commercial shoot.

I also have an incredible amount of respect and admiration for Backfocus' crew on this shoot: Shelley, Brian, Trey, Charles, Nancy, Matt and Brandon....oh and the guy behind the camera.

This is probably one my favorite photos for no apparent reason. Gear carts make a great place for doctors in waiting.

As PA, I had to find a way to keep the crafts small, portable and very mobile. I used my Multi-Cart and it worked perfectly.
